The Flying Eagle Cent was minted for circulation for only two years in 1857 and 1858. It was also minted as a patten coin in 1856 to show the new design to Congress. Some coins dated 1856 were also subsequently restruck in 1857 and 1858.
During the two years the coins were struck for circulation, mintages were relatively high. As a result, these coins are readily obtainable in circulated grades.
